Day 01: Marangu Gate (1,980m) to Mandara Hut (2,700m)

Begin your Kilimanjaro adventure at Marangu Gate. After completing registration formalities, start your trek through the lush rainforest. Watch for colobus monkeys and various bird species. The well-maintained trail leads to Mandara Hut, your first overnight stop. After settling in, you can take a short walk to Maundi Crater for acclimatization and stunning views. Distance: 8km, Hiking time: 4-5 hours.

Day 02: Mandara Hut (2,700m) to Horombo Hut (3,720m)

After breakfast, continue through the final stretch of rainforest and enter the heath and moorland zone. The vegetation changes dramatically as you approach Horombo Hut. Day 03: Horombo Hut (3,720m) to Kibo Hut (4,700m)

Trek through the alpine desert zone where vegetation becomes increasingly sparse. Cross the saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo peaks, reaching Kibo Hut by early afternoon. Rest and prepare for your midnight summit attempt. Early dinner and sleep are essential as you'll wake around 11:30 PM. Distance: 10km, Hiking time: 6-8 hours.

Day 04: Summit Day: Kibo Hut (4,700m) to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) to Horombo Hut (3,720m)

Begin your summit attempt around midnight. Zigzag up through heavy scree to Gilman's Point (5,685m) for sunrise. Continue along the crater rim to Uhuru Peak, Africa's highest point. After celebrating at the summit, descend to Kibo Hut for a short rest, then continue to Horombo Hut. This is the most challenging and longest day. Distance: 22km (6km ascent, 16km descent), Hiking time: 12-15 hours.

Day 05: Horombo Hut (3,720m) to Marangu Gate (1,980m)
